May 25, 2010 - The news for the EeePad keep on heating up as we near Computex. The CEO of Asus is confirmed to be announcing the Eee Pad at Computex which starts June 10. However, just today there are unconfirmed reports that Asus will be announcing the Asus EeePad on May 31, 2010. This is great news! What we do know as of today is that it will feature a 10 inch display running Windows OS with an Atom processor. A second version of the EeePad will feature Google's Android or Google Chrome OS along with the Nvidia Tegra graphics processor. The differences will be battery life and power. Obviously the Windows version will be more power hungry but will likely be the faster Eee Pad. The Android/Chrome and Tegra version of the Eee Pad will be more power effecient. The rumoured price is expected to be around $500 US for the Windows version. Release date in July 2010 is the latest rumour. May 20, 2010 - There are strong indications that Asus will in fact showcase their Eee Pad (EeePad) at Computex Taipei. It sounds like there will be two different versions of the EeePad available. One with Windows 7 operating system and another running Google Android operating system. It seems that cloud computing is key in the release of the Eee Pad which means it won't be released anytime in the immediate near future. Of course come back to visit with the upcoming exciting news release and the definite photos and videos of this mysterious Asus EeePad tablet. May 16, 2010 - The EeePad is rumoured to be making an appearance at Computex in June. A likely release will be this summer, possibly in July. It will have Tegra 2 from Nvidia which means amazing video capabilities without draining the battery. It will have an ARM CPU and 3g connectivity. Expect solid confirmation on details along with the usually mass marketing of high definition EeePad photos to be coming out any week or day now. I've believed that Asus is going to be the next Apple. They have the innovation and the quality to make a serious run at being the next big thing in the technology sector. Just like Apple, except much more reasonable pricing. I think the EeePad will prove their ability to keep up and exceed the consumers expectations.
January 20, 2010 - The news of an Asus Eee Pad has hit the web! Reported by Digitimes, the Eee Pad is reported to be making an apperance later in Computex Taipei 2010. Although prices change often, the rumor is that the Eee Pad will cost around $500. The next question you may have is what exactly is the Eee Pad? It's possible that this video below is actually a sneak peak of the Eee Pad at CES 2010.
Look at CES 2010 and what was happening there. There was somewhat of a tablet PC revolution of sorts. Call them slates if you will. It's similar to the eReader device, except they have more PC type qualities. Essentially, why would you want to have a device the size of an eReader if you could do more than just read books? I think todays technology and devices need to offer more than a single function. A cell phone has been replaced by the smartphone because why? Simply because a smartphone gives you more abilities and functionality than a cell phone. A cell phone was a one trick pony and that just doesn't cut it in todays tech savy world. People want and expect more. So, we have established the market or desire for the Asus Eee Pad. Asustek is the one company who create some of the best and most innovative portable computing solutions. They essentally created the netbook category of computers with their Eee PC line. So it shouldn't be surprising then that Asus has created an Eee Pad.
The Asus Eee Pad Made An Appearance at CES 2010?
Because there is only a news release, a rumour if you prefer, you can let your imagination run wild on this one. Here is my take. It will be a slate, a tablet style pc, similar to the eReaders of today. Touchscreen functionality of course! Now here is what was mentioned in the press release. The Asus EeePad will be powered by Nvidia Tegra. What is Tegra? Let's say it's a processor that specializes in minimal power requirements. When Nvidia created Tegra, they wanted to start at zero power, and move slowly, but always focusing on keeping the power requirements to an absolute minimum. The end result was Tegra which allows for 1080p video and video game capabilities that are even with the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. Imagine all that with a device that has shocking battery life. Welcome to the world of Eee Pad. Our site is obviously a work in progress. Check back with us as we develop new content and news. As Asus Eee Pad news coming out, we will post it here and we will allow you to have your say on the EeePad news and developments. We are not associated or affiliated in anyway with Asustek. We are fans of Asus products. We think the Eee Pad will do the same for the tablet / slate market as the Eee PC did for the netbook market. Our prediction? The Asus Eee Pad will revolutionize the tablet and slate computer market.
